David Cameron, MP for Witney, was the guest speaker at Experience Oxfordshire’s Cultural Platform event, hosted by Cogges Manor Farm, which focuses on encouraging tourism in Oxfordshire. This event specifically championed Magna Carta, which in its 800th anniversary year is on exhibition in the Oxford Museum.
David said: “I was delighted to mark the anniversary of Magna Carta in the heart of my constituency, alongside so many people from business and the local community. Experience Oxfordshire does a fantastic job to promote cultural tourism, improving the visitor experience and boosting the economy – and today was just one example of that.” He also hoped that, due to the recent filming of Downton Abbey at Cogges Manor Farm, guests were not too disappointed that their ‘V.I.P. guest’ was not Maggie Smith!
