Why voting in West Oxfordshire has never been so important.

Your West Oxfordshire Conservative Candidates

We are now just one day away from the local council elections taking place on Thursday 4th May. This really is an opportunity to make sure our councils focus on the services we all pay for and not wasting your money on pet projects.

Over the past few years local Lib Dems, Labour and Green councillors have been working together to seize control of our councils and stop your local Conservative team from winning. This has resulted in a coalition of chaos at both the District and County Council. Rather than focusing on delivering the good local services which you as council tax payers expect, we have ended up with our councils focused on pet projects and gesture politics.

The chaotic rollout and blanket 20MPH has left our roads less safe and in most areas has shown not to be effective but residents are paying the £8million price tag. We support the changes in villages or town centres or around schools but this change with little engagement with the community shows the council aren’t interested in listening to you.

We also continue to campaign for a full review of the closure of the Witney High Street vehicle restriction and if we take back the council, we will act on this and end the dither and delay we’ve seen from Labour.

West Oxfordshire is again being hammered with more housing with our towns and villages left exposed to unplanned development thanks to the Lib Dems and their local plan review. Rather than getting a plan in place to protect us they are stalling on the Eynsham Garden Village development which is leaving the rest of West Oxfordshire exposed to even more development. This cannot be allowed to continue.

These local elections are the opportunity to end this madness and instead send a message to them that our councils need to focus on delivering services and not on pet projects.

It's time to bring back common sense to our local politics and this can only be achieved if you vote for your local Conservative team on Thursday 4th May. We will focus on delivering and improving the local services that you pay for and expect your local council to deliver. Let's beat them together.
