I'm so proud to be standing as the Conservative District Council candidate for the Carterton South ward, in town where I live with my family.
I grew up in Carterton as part of an RAF family and have many happy memories of the town. After living in other RAF communities, I returned nearly five years ago and am delighted to call Carterton home once again, now living on Lawton Avenue with my family.
I have worked in social care for over 30 years as a carer and social worker supporting older people and families. I now run a small business as a later life advocate. This experience has taught me the importance of listening carefully to people and understanding how decisions made in offices can have real consequences for everyday life.
I strongly believe that decisions affecting Carterton should be shaped by the people who live and work here, not imposed from a distance. As a town councillor, I will argue for genuine consultation, challenge top-down approaches, and make sure local voices are properly heard before decisions are taken.
